LEGAZPI CITY – Police are now hot on the trail of an employee of the Philippine National Bank (PNB) here who went missing together with the P5 million cash he was entrusted with.

Albay Provincial Director William Macabenta identified the suspect as Jimmy Baldon, clearing officer of the PNB Legazpi City branch.

Baldon was onboard the bank’s armored van with two bags of cash totalling to P5 million that were to be placed in various automated teller machines (ATM) when he suddenly asked the driver to make a quick stop on Rizal St., near his house, to get some clothes.

The driver and the escorting security guard waited for Baldon inside the armored van but the suspect failed to get back, said Macabenta.
