Pakistan claims US strike kill 8 militants

Pakistani officials claimed a suspected US missile fired into nortwestern Pakistan, an area believed to hold many insurgents fleeing the Afghan offensive, killed at least eight militants on Friday.

The missiles hit a compound, near Mil Ali in North Waziristan, allegedly being used by suspected Taliban militants who escaped the military offensive in the Afghan border region. The missile strike destroyed the compound and killed eight militants.
